Two Great White Southern Butterflys
Shem Creek: The Partying Side!
(a special request here, from photo below. It is Red's bar, very popular! I have never been there. But it is cool, even has special nights for dogs.)
Independence Day Happening
Carolina Manatees are free
in that they are found wild
along the coast. I had not
known anyone would put this
beautiful animal in a zoo.
They have their independence
in Charleston, so the sighting
was totally appropriate and
meaningful. Let us preserve
and protect the wetlands.
see this site for close up photos and more info.

Island Bar
(since I moved to the area and before. Merchant Marine, he gets
around, I have photographed him
before. The name of the bar: Bert's The place, Sullivan's island.)
July 3, 2006
(my camera is broken again.) It took me until 2:30 AM talking to Canon, running some errands, finding a photo for today. Love this place, this man is super cool, but wanted to let you know the other stuff. I have two baptisms today. Am using Bill's camera, who knows what the future holds. Don't think I want to know.

Hey, maybe I could hide in Bert's Bar for a month or so! Until all this bad stuff goes away! Just a thought.
Note photo behind the bar on the wall, I purposely took the photo with him at the left to show the Coppertone thing. No, he did not look in the other direction, then he had to go and RAN out of the bar.
OK, Rutt, what did I do wrong with this guy? I like it! Why is it not liked like yours are?
Plus, smoking has been banned on the island. takes place in a matter of days or weeks. This bar is a smoker's hangout. This is a shot of history!
I sharpened the eye a bit more and replaced that photo with this one. The eye looks so sharp that I could swear he is wearing contacts. I know he is wearing a hearing aid, but that is not an "eye" thing, smile.
Don't know if it looks better or not. I had used levels to make the face a bit lighter than the rest, plus I had done that to the eye in particular. That may have hurt the contrast.
