Tuesday 8/8/2006 afternoon, I went to Magnolia Gardens to just take photos of the "farm" animals. It was a bit overcast. I heard that there were wading birds in the lakes, so I put my pack on my back and headed my feet that way. Towards the very end, at the Ashley River, I found my bird. He and I spent a couple of hours together. Hope I work up some of the other shots. I got frightened when I no longer could hear a space between the lightening and the thunder. Especially as I was under a huge tree (nice cover, I was totally dry watching these huge rain drops). I told the bird he could do as he wanted but that I had to leave. After I turned the corner and looked back I took cover under another tree and chanced that last shot of the downpour. The bird was still there and is in the final photo, here. thanks for looking, ginger
