Enlarge this one, soooo cool. Little baby birds: tee tiny. No, Thusie, I did not bother them. I stayed on the road well away from the murderous gators who seem to coexist with the birds quite well. I sat for an hour or two to watch this nest. The parent bird is flying from the nest in this photo. He/she is a tad soft, but it was such a "get" for me, I am ignoring the soft part! There are two babies showing. Their little mouths are open just like I have always seen in other's photos. The nest is so well hidden I would not have seen it except for my habit of watching to see where the birds fly. To my amazement...........

I might add that the 20D makes too much noise to photograph a symphony. I managed a few shots, then was told politely to stop.In The Srawberry Patch

Today was the first time I used my
new Gary Fong thing, that is why the
flash was going off. I used it in the church
for a baptism, then took it outside for fill.
I like it, it is the cloudy one.
I found out later that it was over 90 degrees out when I took that photo. It almost killed me, thought it was my age. I had no idea we were that far along in the "season". gGirls In Communion White dresses, carrying flowers. They are starting the procession into the church to crown the statue of Mary. I made one in deliberately lightly saturated colors and I toned the other one sepia. I had some space left over, so I wrote all over it. ginger Graffiti?

In the spring one day is set aside in Mt Pleasant, and many other coastal towns, to bless the shrimp boats before the coming season.
The fleet has less boats each year. More and more the "family" feeling of the festival has given way to commercialization and automation.
This is a dying tradition. I do not like to go as the festival was very crowded even back in the 80s. Now there are shuttle services.
I was fortunate to see that the boats were getting ready for their appearance before the crowds, they were lining up off of Sullivan's Island. I thought all of my photos would be sensational, they are not. But the experience was.
I sat on a jetty of rocks and took the photos. (I do have a photo of Bill sleeping on the rocks, smile.)
There were just a few people there.
It was very cool. I call my photos Blessings, but I was the one who was blessed.
