Teeming with wildlife.........somewhere!
Meanwhile, we drive the roads. The gate controls the water levels.
Love them trees!
Wild Butterfly On A Flower
(It wasn't easy!)
Flowers That Bloom In May, in the vacant lots on Sullivan's Island, SC.
Lighthouse, dead in the water, lots of water, off of Folly Beach, SC. That is in the foreground, to the viewer's right, in the background is a small white spot on top of the newer and active Sullivan's Island Lighthouse. Before sunrise. Feb 5, 2006
Marching To Charleston At Sunset: carolina peaches. 5/30/2006
I was trying to shoot the strawberry patch for the Challenge, but it was closed, so I went to this orchard and shot over, under and around the fence.

Cardinal At The Stable
I might add that we were leaving, and I was carrying my camera with my 100mm macro on it. And I saw this cardinal. I have been trying to photograph a cardinal all spring, and here I am with a "short" lens. Actually, I am lucky he was where he was, for a minute...........he left and not for better photo ops. smile, g

The Gator And Two Turtles: it was a warm June day........
(Rutt, and all, I did not use blur, I don't know why it looks
like I did, other than that............)
You might want to note that photo, shows more of the whole scene. Pretty! Actually one of the most beautiful scenes there, IMO. I had only seen it in the morning before. I was dubious that it could be photographed in the afternoon with the light on the other side. I worked with that fact in mind. And I got "chased" by another gator in the process.
The Next Morning
The Butterfly in the afternoon
OK, I cropped it like you all wanted. Do you like it better????
A thousand thumbs for "YES", smile.
I tried cropping the photo, I will post the link below this. I did not like the composition as well, let me know if you do, please. So I darkened the bright bud at the end that was distracting. I also emphasized the lighting on the butterfly. He does blend in.
Up a smaller creek from Shem Creek. The shrimp boat dock and a crab trap frames the photo on the bottom. The marsh grass is a nice summer green for early evening, or late day, however one views these things.
