Googling:
here in Charleston, we have constant barometers of how life is going. It's not officially the holiday season until the Coburg Cow is decorated. For a long time, there was a Coburg dairy near my house, but they sold to a larger corporation about 15 years ago. However, in keeping with our "tradition is everything" attitude, the Coburg Cow remains a fixture in our lives. For those of you older than about 45, you remember when places advertised with some sort of mechanized sign. For almost 50 years, Bessie (the Coburg Cow) has gone round and round and is still considered a landmark.
_______________
She is sometimes "stolen" by students as a prank. Other than when she is removed as a hurricane precaution, or "stolen", she has been a tradition longer than I have lived here. She is on the other side of Charleston from me. I was over there today, saw her with Egg Nog (usually milk), and I had to have a photo to share with you all. Bill grumbled, foretold terrible traffic accidents, but he did turn around, and here she is!
gingerThe gator and the duck!

(they were both fine) I just added this one. I have other photos, don't want to do them.
funny about this shot.....I thought the gator was an annoying clump of something in the water that I would have to clone out. Once I realized that it was a gator, I focused on him, but that was only in a couple of shots. and he might still be a bit soft. Can't keep my eyes open anymore!
don't forget to look at this one:

Or please see the alternate, I had a lot of trouble deciding. I chose this Great Blue Heron because it was the most noticeable thumbnail from today. I went birding. The sun did something interesting here in a photo of a little duck. I have never had this happen before:

love these ducks. They play, "duck" under water, pop up again.
I saw them last winter when I was after wading birds. This winter I have waited for the appearance of these little clowns.
I am out of town right now, took a few family photos tonight and many of my littlest dog. Can't work anything up. But these Mersangers were out there playing just Saturday.
This is for Tuesday, back to "regular" life in between some holidays and New Years.
click on the photo for a "large" size photo and see the water drops from their bobbing up and down in the water.
The front ones may be soft, I am on my daughter's computer with her new ultra sharp Dell monitor. have a good day! ginger
